I bite my nails and I get sores around my fingers from it ... does anyone know how to get rid of the sores? I know if I quit biting my nails but I can't seem to stop. Anyone know how I could? Other than hot sauce and nail polish remover cause I'll still bite them anyway.

The sores aren't warts ... it's where I actually tear the skin off

Really, it is hard to stop. I was an avid nail biter as a child until the time I was in my mid 20's. You need inspiration. find pictures of attractive hands, well polished nails etc. Look at them often. Find something to do!! I bit when I was bored.
Also, once you quit, it takes a long time for healthy nails to grow, so don't get discouraged.

PS think of what is under your nails- EWWWWW all kinds of really gross stuff- just from every day life- think on that too

Did you try getting fake nails? Like at the salon? That helped me. But it costs a lot. As for the sores, try a cuticle cream and drink more water. That should help out.

OKAY...well that is a serious problem and a bad habit it looks horrible I hate seeing people do it...anyways you can chew gum...to me its a nervous habit people get and if you notice you're are quick to put your fingers to your mouth and begin to chomp away but if you are already chewing on something....gum it would probably decrease the amount of times you attack your nails if not try acrylic nails aka fake nails.

Put Sally Hansen, or some other brand, clear top-coat on your nails. It'll make them hard to bite, 'cuz they'll be protected, and it'll make them taste bad. -Do 2 coats if u need to

yeah for starters get you some cuticle care like cuticle conditioner. they sell it at wal mart. then dip your digits in fingernail polish remover. once you keep tasting that awful taste, you'll quit.
