There's a great place on the corner of wells and water sreet in milwaukee - tough to actually find - but ask anyone when you get there. It's called the safehouse... . Really a neat novelty place with a spy theme throughout! LOTS of terrific places in Minneapolis - My favorite - Ruths Chris - but you have one in Chicago also. Ichibans - Japanese Steakhouse downtown Minneapolis - a GREAT place where they prepare the food in front of you. Mannys across the street from Ichibans - Well known for their steaks. For a very romantic atmosphere I recommend Forepaughs in St. Paul - Right across from the governors mansion. It's an old turn of the century mansion converted to a restaurant. Delicious food, great atmosphere - terrific view. Stillwater (St. Paul suburb) offers the Minnesota Zephyr - an awesome dinner train. Yes - 3 miles of track with entertainment and dynamite food -I recommend the caboose drink! All mentioned here except for the Safehouse is fairly pricey... Dinner for 2, drinks, dessert - $100+. Enjoy!

I don't know if this sounds appealing, but in Black River Falls Wisconsin there is a McDonalds decorated entirely with a cow-spot theme.

If you can, plan your route through the Winona area - the scenery is soooo pretty!
