you need to go to a specialist (endocrinologist) they can evaluate your diabetes and get you on a regimeboth diet and insulin if need be.

Diabetes can be controlled by medication. It is currently incurable. if you do not trust your doctor, seek a second opinion. A good person to ask is the Director of Nursing at your local hospital. Just call & ask for them. You will be given a list of names - usually three - choose the first! All will be good, however, because no Nurse will give out the name of a bad doc.
If you do not treat your diabetes, you will become sicker & die from it or the complications.

First of all, diabetes is not curable but with diet, medicine, and exercise, of course, it can be controlled. Secondly, call your health ins. provider and ask for a few names. TRy to get a dr. who is affiliated with your favorite hospital, go from there. God forbid you are ever in the hospital for this, your Dr. practices there. If you are prescribed pills to manage the Diabetes, take them. Faithfully. Try all the above things also. All the ill occurances from this disease can only progress if you let them. Your Dr. must tell you about it so you're aware. Insulin could be far off and that is up to you.

Usually diabetes is genetic or because you are obese. You cannot just get rid of it though. :( If you are genetically obese you should be taking the medicine to help control it. If you are obese you need to get your weight down.

My mom had genetic diabetesand was obese too. She had a weight loss surgery (which is NOT the answer in my opinion) however, she lost like 80 pounds or so and now she doesn't have to take insulin shots of medicine because that extra weight has helped. She will always be a diabetic and will need to monitor her blood sugar and see a doctor if it starts to get out of control.
