Once the bank or finance company has turned the file over to the repo man, then it can be repossessed at any place and at any time. They generally like dead of night or when you are at work. You cannot make a scene if you do not see them.

A vehicle can and will be repossessed anywhere it is found.
Parking it where you work and where you live are the first places they look.
Any info you gave on your credit application (anyone else's address) is the next place they look.
If you are in default on a loan and want to keep your car, do not park near these places.

No, i do no longer agree. There desires to be somewhat compassion right here too and not purely intense or harsh legislations. the foremost difficulty is making specific their habit would not come any the place close to non-human beings who smoke, yet they extremely deserve a place for themselves. As for 'Ban Smoking in private autos,' it is taking someones Civil Rights away. it extremely is none of my business enterprise what human beings do whilst theycontinual, see you later as theycontinual properly. individually, i could ban something else, cellular telephones in Public places and quite ban utilising cellular telephones mutually as driving. i could extremely legislate to make it necessary that a telephone can purely be utilized in a motor vehicle whilst linked to a Speaker Stand, it is far less of a distraction and lots extra secure.

I've seen repo men take cars at work places on TV shows. If the car is in plain sight, the repo man can take it. Repo men usually inform the police that they're about to take a car.
I've seen repo men go into gated apartment complexes to repo cars in plain sight at 3 AM.

Yes, while you are still leasing the vehicle, though the vehicle is registered to you, the bank is the owner named on the title. If you default on your loan, the bank has full right to take the vehicle from wherever they find it.

What's not legal is taking out a loan on a car and not making payments. Who cares where they repoed it from. You didn't make your payments.

yes! the only way to keep your car from being repo'd is to keep it in a locked PRIVATE (residential) garage. the repo can't break and enter to retreive it. However the best way is to just pay your bill.

Of course. If you didn't pay me I'd take it from anywhere I could find it. And the daytime is alot safer for the driver.

As long as the repo man doesn't trespass on restricted property, it is legal and likely.
