Well, I'll take a tutor approach to this. Either you don't know how to do slope, or you are just quizzing people. I'm assuming that you are unsure of how to do slope. Slope is done "change in y" over "change in x." For instance... change in y is the same as subtracting the y values. So, " 6 - (-9) " or 15. Remember, change in x is the same as subtracting the x values. So, you would subtract the x values. " 2 - 4" or -2. It does not matter which direction you subtract the values in, as long as you subtract in the same direction with the x values. So, you could subtract "-9 - 6" or -15 and " 4 - 2 " or 2. To say, change in y over change in x means to "divide the difference of x from the difference in y." The slope of that line would be -7.5.

Use this forumla to discover the slope of a line with 2 factors, (x, y) and (m, n): (n - y)/(m - x) = slope purely replace your factors into this equation: (6 - 2)/(9 - 7) = slope 4/2 = slope 2 = slope desire this helped!

do the math. slope = Y1 - Y2 over X1 - X2, so -9 - 6 over 4 - 2. that is the slope.

You can find the slope using a simple equation, given two points on the line.

If you have two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), you can find the slope using
(y1 - y2)
-----------
(x1 - x2)

Or

(y2 - y1)
----------
(x2 - x1)

They'll both give you the same result. So take your points and plug it in:
(2, 6) = (x1, y1)
(4, -9) = (x2, y2)

6 - (-9)
------- =
2 - 4
