7(t - 5) = ?
To get rid of the paranthesis, you have to multiply the 7 by the t and the -5:
7 * t + 7 * -5 = ?
7t + -35 = ?
If you have a plus and a minus, you switch the sign to a minus:
7t - 35 = ?
Add the 35 to the other side, so you can even it out.
7t = 35
Divide by seven.
t = 5
Good luck! :)

First thing to do is Distribute
7(t-5)= 7t-35
So 7t-35=0
Add 35
So 7t=35
Then Divide both sides by 7
t=5
Now go back to the original equation:
7(t-5)
plug in t, which equals 5
7(5-5)
7(0)
0

7(t-5) = 7t-35 (distribute the 7)
7t-35=0
+35 +35 (add 35 to each side)
7t=35
/7 /7 (divide each side by 7)
Answer t= 5

7( t - 5) = first you go from left to the right by multiplying
7t - 35 = than you bring 35 to the right by equalling out to zero on both sites
+ 35 =
7t = 35 than divide by 7 to get t
t= 0.2

Umm... I don't think it's solvable unless you know t.
If you do know t, say for example you know t=6, then you would plug 6 in for t in the equation like so, 7(6-5)=? Then you go from inside the parentheses out solving the problem. 6-5 =1, right?
Now you have 7(1). That means multiply. So, 7*1=7
