Wrong. That is simply more hippie propaganda in an attempt to add more fuel to the thousands of conspiracy theories everywhere. The plain truth is it cost more to produce hydrogen than crude/petrol at this time. Unless you have a huge power source (like the Boulder Dam power plant) hydrogen just isn't an economical alternate yet. Yet. In a free market, the money flows like water and unless you are ready to live in a state like Red China we just have to trust the entrepreneurs and scientists until it becomes cost effective to extract, store, ship and transfer H into our vehicles. Believe me, the oil companies will be the first to do this if money can be made. There are inroads being made in H research every day, however. When the day comes, even if that day means the middle east has raised crude oil to $200.00 a barrel and pump gas is $12.00 per gallon, I believe hydorgen will become the fuel source of choice. This problem is way too big to be kept a dirty little secret by the politicans and big oil. Besides, they are not THAT smart.

There certainly is no shortage of politicians in favor of them.

But financial reasons? Yeah, I'd say - right now, fuel cells are way too expensive for most people to afford, so there isn't too much interest in tooling up for a production hydrogen car for a while. And there aren't many places that you can refuel a hydrogen car, because there aren't any hydrogen cars on the road for the station to refuel and so it makes little sense to build them.

The biggest problem is with the impact/collision aspects of hydrogen-powered vehicles. Picture a bomb exploding...that is what it would be like upon impact. We need to consider alternative fuels, yes! But safety first!

Yes I believe this is definatley so.
I think there needs to be consumer demand, but it needs to be pushed more, there needs to be more promotion, more government support and sponsorship. It sounds like there is just a lot of false information and a lot of negative propaganda still surrounding renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Things have to change.
REnewable energy is NOW> vote third party.
