Get on the do not call list. It is also a good idea to keep them on the line for long periods of time pretending to buy what they are selling. That is something they hate and a good way to get back at them directly. After a few minutes, just set the phone down. They will get the message.

The best way to annoy them is to put them on hold. Make them think you are really into their products. Have a kid sit next to you and pretend to do homework or better yet really do homework. Or leave them hanging on and go out for the night. That way they cant call another caller because you have not hung up the phone. lol Have fun.

You have a lot of really good suggestions here so I will try to get them in order of what might work. !) The do-not-call lists in the UK and the US. 2) Tell them no and ask to be removed from their call list. 3) If all else fails tell them to F*** OFF.

Yes, i do agree with you unsolicited tele-marketer-type phone calls can be quite annoying. The call itself is annoyance enough for me, therefore I have found an easy, polite and straight to the point way of ending the call a.s.a.p. However, as your question states,... you want to 'waste' more of you time by finding ways to prolong the original 'annoyance'.. so I'll just stop here,. as you are not interested in a 'solution', .. apparently you'd prefer to exasperate it.

Yeah, listen to their entire pitch. Ask a few questions. Really string it out. When it's time to close the sale, say, "I'm 11. Do you want to talk to my mom?" Then come back to the phone and do the same thing all over again.

Tell them you are very interested in whatever they're selling.

Then ask them to standby for a moment.

From time-to-time, beg them to wait just a bit longer.

Eventually, they'll hang up. Repeat as needed.

They best way to hurt 'em is by wasting their time.

Tell them you are on your states Do Not Call list and ask them to remove you from their companies call list. Tell them if they call again you will report them. This will stop them it their tracks. It's not fun but it works.
