Units of measurement.

A centimeter is 1/100th of a meter. It is used for linear measurements. 1 Inch = 2.54 cm or 1 Foot = 30.48 cm.

A cubic centimeter is a unit of volume equal to a small cube one centimeter on a side. This is about 1/30th of a fluid ounce. 1 fluid ounce = 29.6 cc. Although not exact, many people use cubic centimeters the same as a milliliter.

A gram is a unit of mass. One cc of water at 4 degrees C has a mass of almost exactly 1 gram. Ounces are weight, not mass, but at the surface of the earth 1 ounce (avoirdupois) = 28.3495 grams. A U.S. dime has a mass of just about one gram.
