Algebra 2 factoring?

Hi, I missed out on the "bottoms up" method of factoring equations. Rather than ask how to factor equations (as i see its already been asked) does anyone have any knowledge of the "bottoms up" method?

I was pretty good in Algebra, but I have never heard of the "bottoms up" method.
