You won't ruin your life or become a bum by not going to college. Lots of people who never go to college make comfortable wages, have great lives, and are satisfied with their work.
HOWEVER...if you have both the grades and the money to go to college, it's probably a good idea. College certainly isn't a waste of precious years of your life, it's both an educational and social growth experience -- you'll learn a lot more than just math, science, english, or whatever. It's also a fact that some jobs will be absolutely not available to you without a college degree, and even many that don't absolutely require a degree will be hard to get without one. I have always felt that a degree is just a piece of paper...what makes it valuable is what you did to get it. And it's those things you do to get a degree that make you more valuable to companies, and why you can earn more.
It is, of course, your decision. All I can tell you is that it's most certainly NOT a waste of time (or money or sleep) -- it's worth every minute. You will certainly discover things about yourself that you didn't know, you'll learn more about the world, and might just find a subject or project that excites you so much that it turns into a lifelong pursuit (either as a job, a hobby, etc.). I've got a BS and MS degree -- and they were both worth it. Good luck with your choice.

I went to a Jr College, Tech College and even a University, you might be able to land that 1 in a lift time job afther completeing a 2year, 3year 4 year or even Post grad schooling but for the number of poeple studing and working for the same job the likely hood of you landing that job are pretty slim. Dont take this the wrong way I hope anyone that goes on with schooling are cool its just that you dont need more schooling to get a great job. One that you can injoy for a long time. I Studied Nursing, and Bio/Enginering and I ended up being a Truck Driver for the past 25 years and injoying myself at it. Truck Drivers are refered to as Paid Vacationers (Get Paid While Seeing The Country). And like I said I've been doing it now for 25 years.
Finish High School First and then think what you want to do for the rest of your life because its a long time before you retire. Just do what you will injoy doing.

If you have the drive to do something with your life that doesn't require you to go to college, you could make a living by just finishing high school. On average students with high school diplomas earn less than the average of a person with a college degrees. If you see college as being a waste of time, then I wouldn't push you to do it. But if you're just not sure what you want to do. go to a community college for awhile and take some different classes to see what you might like.
Good Luck.

You need to develop for yourself list of short, medium and long term goals. That's what guidance department is there to help you with. Your going to have to get some job skills, because very few business offer job training. Look in Occupational outlook to see were 'Projected' employment demand will be heaviest. There is still the case of entry level person working himself to the top, but ask your self honestly how many Rush Limbo there will be in the future. You can't answer how am I going to get there till you have some sense where you want to go. College may or may not be right for you. It's all about getting skills you can sell in the market place. College will definitely riun your bank account, but if you go for correct reasons doubt that it will ruin your life. Talk to guidance about jobs that do not need college degree

No. As ultimately its about you and what you do with your life. The experience gained and a drive to fulfill your dreams is more important. Though of course gathering knowledge from college and getting the contacts for your future career will help.

Wasting 4 years in high school and getting a degree isn't wasting money. If you don't know what direction, who cares?! It's college--no one knows where they are headed!! College is the time to be more independent than high school but not indepedent enough to have to pay bills and having no one care whether or not you got into a car wreck.
You're burnt out of school, aren't you.
This is what will happen if you don't go to college: finding a job that pays well will be tough. Also, getting ahead in any situation will be nearly impossible--you will be stuck doing jobs will end up hating for the rest of your life. You will go to your high school reunion and realize that you've wasted the last 10 years doing something you hate and end up wanting to go back to school.
A college education, especially if you get now, is going to put ahead in life. You aren't going to waste ANYTHING on going to college. Before you discount it forever, try one year. You pick the classes, and you'll be surprised .My first semester I took 15 hours, three of which consisted of watching plays and concerts a few times a semester. The best part was that I didn't have classes on Fridays and I didn't start on Mondays or Wednesdays until 1:00!
It really sounds like you are tired of school and don't want the possibility of having to write ONE more essay.
High school isn't like college at all. College isn't like what teachers protray it as. The classes are easy, and if you know how to make common sense out of classes you'll do fine.
It's not a waste of money.
It's not a waste of time.
It's not a waste of sleep or life or effort.
You will life to be around 80, I'm guessing.
College will take 4 years.
That's not even a viable fraction of your life! It's not enough to say "I'm not going to college 'cuz it's just a waste of my life."
Please. I just graduated after 3 years and have a job making more in my first year than my fiance, who DIDN'T finish school, has made in his first two years of working; he was working three jobs that first year! Having a degree has pushed me ahead. I have a future now.

Go to College or you will have no chance against all the ppls that r going. The competition between other countires is goin up cuz tons of american jobs are already going overseas... so my advice is to go 2 college or join the army.
