Although I truly don't know the size of an engine bay for the 84 Celica, I do know that nearly anything is possible as long as you have the time and the money... A lot of money. First off, you would need to do MANY modifications since some parts won't be compatable with the American engine. You would need to get custom made engine mounts as well as make enough space in the engine bay for the engine. This might be hard considering imports are usually already very crowded in the engine bay. But hey, if you've got the time, the money, and a knowledgable mechanic that can give you advice on how to go about doing it, then it might be possible. I've heard of people installing Chevy V8s into Nissans...

I've seen loonier swaps. Just measure things very carefully. Worst comes to worst, you may have to set it behind the steering and cut up the firewall, or swap in a different front suspension from another car. But just about any swap is possible with enough money, welding wire, and ruthlessness.

You can, it will take a lot of custom work/fabrication.
If it is a 3.8 liter engine don't waste your time.
You can modify the stock celica engine to out perform the chevy installation more easily/economically.
