Check out some early Elvis Costello. Watching the Detectives, (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love and Understanding, stuff like that. Some early Talking Heads would be cool too, like No Compassion, Psycho Killer. And you can always fall back on The Ramones.

I don't know about Punk Hardcore,and bands like that.
My two favorites are Panic! At The Disco, and Savage Garden.

Watch the YouTube video of Affirmation....I love this song.
Panic's video is a lot of fun too.
EDIT-I found my favorite Affirmation video. It is done by two sisters and they are so full of life. Beautiful.

Well, all the songs by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus are good. My personal favorite would either be "Face Down, or "Damn Regret". But you should check them all out.
Umm, AFI has a lot of good songs too...like "Love Like Winter", "Miss Murder" and pretty much the rest of their songs.
The Used is a GREAT band. Two good songs by them are "I Caught Fire" and "All that I've got" I think its call all that I've got.
"Lips of an Angel" and "Get Stoned" by Hinder are good songs.
Angles and Airwaves are good, I don't know if you'll like them if you're looking for hardcore stuff.
"Spin" by Taking Back Sunday is REALLY good.
"Little Razorblade" by The Pink Spiders
"seeing is denying" xAFBx is good. If you cant find them anywhere, go to myspace and then go to music and search for them.
The Showdown is a good rock band..I like "A moment encased.."

Atreyu is really good! I'm like blank of the name of my favorite song by then but it starts with an S
Some good punk bands are: Cartel, Sum 41, Sugarcult, Rise Against, Nirvana, and Blink 182. A good song by Sum 41 is "The Hell Song"
Some good Hardcore bands are: Hollywood Undead ( I LOVE them! Go to http://www.myspace.com/hollywoodundead to har them), Staind, and As I Lay Dying. Two really good songs by Hollywood Undead are "My Black Dahila" and "No. 5"
Oh, theres so many more. But I can't think of anymore right now.

go to PANDORA.COM then type in a name of a band you especially enjoy and say create radio (you might have to create an account...its free tho) then fool around click thru the songs (click the next button) it will play different songs by the artist you entered and also artists that sound similar to the one you entered....
