i dun really like country music, cuz they all kinda do the same thing over and over again, but rock and metal are great in my opinion.
Rap and Hip Hop is MTV's cruel joke on all people who undertand what normal music is.

country music has limited amount of creative space to work with. there are only so many country melodies out there to be had. Rock has a much broader spectrum of creativity, perhaps
infinite, so it will never go away. Rap is a joke, musically speaking. It's creative possibilities have been played out.
Country needs a new direction. Right now it's just mechanical
crap. Someone needs to come along and reinvent country,
and give it a new direction to go in. No doubt it will happen
in time.

the music industry is show biz, honey. and show biz IS about the money. this is like asking why movies of late have no morals anymore. well, the producers and directors follow the flow charts, and whatever makes the most money is the style that is mimicked throughout. talent might have a sliver of recognition here, but it's all on the box office or billboard charts.
there will always be exceptions, the who will always be the who, and alicia keys ain't never gon' change, but i see where you're coming from. when the hell did we allow justin timberlake to bring sexy back?? he's from nsync for crying out loud!!

I agree with you!, but unfortunately this is still a free country. Our choice is to find an Oldies radio station or live on CDs alone. That's what I did and do.
Thanks be to God for John Denver!
