You do mean the same paint, latex or acrylic?
Not oil paint? NOT!
You will have a different finish. If one is flat and the other gloss, it will be effected.

depends what you are doing........look at this way, do you like to get creative? I've mixed plenty of my own stuff, if you don't like it you can always go get one more can of paint right? Try it on some cardboard and see if you like the effect, if you do, try it on your project.
