Tried both an off-brand aftermarket card and an original, brand new PS2 card. Diablo says there is no card in the slot when I try to save. Diablo disk is in good shape, game works flawlessly, other games do not have a problem saving. Diablo was originally for PS1 but runs on PS2. Is there a compatibility issue? Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As others have suggested you want a Ps1 memory card to save Ps1 video games, nevertheless there's a trick the place you could pass data from a PS1 card to a PS2 card, enable's you save greater, nevertheless you cant play it whilst it fairly is on the PS2 card, yet quite than paying for say 9 PS1 enjoying cards, you could merely use a Ps1 and PS2 card for the comparable volume of area.

Unfortunately, you can only save Playstation game data on a Playstation memory card. PS2 memory cards won't work for regular PS games.

I wish it'd work that way, though. I hated having Diablo take up 11+ blocks of memory (I forget the exact number at the moment) just for one game.
