Short Stories might be best at work. Every year they put out a volume called America's Best Short Fiction; you might go to a bookstore and check it out. If you like sci-fi, there's also a "Year's Best" short stories for that genre. Alice Munro's a kickin' short story writer as well.

Well, what types of books do you like? There's the Last Days of Dogtown (by Anita Diamant, she wrote The Red Tent) was historical fiction. Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreve has been my favorite so far. If you finish that, Sea Glass and The Pilot's Wife are also recommended. I've also been reading Oprah's Book Club selections (all must-reads depending on your preferences) Open House by Elizabeth Berg was a fast and easy read. Jane Heller is another author who has tons of books out, they are all funny light reading. Hope this helps!!

- Flowers in the attic: its about these kids who get locked in an attic for 4 years ,kept from the worls( first book) by their evil grand parents and mother, in the second book( Pedals on the wind) is when they break free, and how Cathy gets revenge upon her mother, and it continues on in a series!
Another good series is The Underland series, this is my favorite series in the world, its about a boy who gets lost in this undground world below Earth, where there are giant versions of every thing and cockroaches can talk!

Ooh, if you are looking for a chick flick type of girly book I would so say go with the series "Sexy" = Suddenly Sexy, Sinfully Sexy, and Simply Sexy. About 3 best friends each who have their tales to tell about how they ran into their future husbands. It's pretty funny. And if you don't like those. Then, I would so say go with Stephen King books'. They are so the bomb :P
