I know, just the other day, someone's cell phone flipped me off!
Oh, you mean the people using cell phones. I think that phones bring out the inconsideration (real word?) in people. It's why I don't give my number out to many people.

yes I agree with you, there is nothing more rude then for a cell phone to ring in church and at meetings. this people must think we want to hear their conversations no matter how boring they are, yes and then they shout or talk very loud and have no consideration for others, and when they drive with the cell phone attached to the ear they have caused accidents, according to the conversation is the car speed- I dislike people driving in front of me when they are talking on the cell. are most of this people gossipers and can't wait to get home and call.
a cell phone serves a purpose good for emergencies or if your some place away from home and have to cancel an appointment or business deal, but there should be rules and considerations.. get off the road to talk, or keep your voice down or step outside and talk.

We just kicked our land line out (because of our phone company) and got cell phones instead. But it was clear from the beginning that they are not to be used in public, so when we go out for dinner, shopping to a ball game or so, we carry it with us but silent and be answered only in a case of emergency. At work I have a bunch of customers that seem to have their phones glued to their ears, never saw them without it, very irritating.

Personally I find the ring tones more annoying than anything. When I hear for example, a cheesy, eviscerated, ring-tonized version of say, Little Red Corvette I have to wonder why somebody would pay to download it, why they would want to hear it even once, let alone every time their phone rings, and exactly what sort of statement they think they're making to those around them. I'm even starting to get nostalgic for the good ol' "brrrinnng brrrring".

Welcome to the information age! I leave my cell phone on vibrate, and if it rings, I check to see it is one of my kids. Even then, I usually ignore it if I'm in a store or in public. If they continue to call, I figure it's an emergency, and get to a place where I can call them back. I like the link to my teenagers, but I hate the inconvenience being so accessible to everyone all of the time!

I think anyone answering any phone while in someone else's presence either to talk to them or work with them is rude. Cell phones only accentuate how poorly people behave.
