Hi..
Perhaps we should just "accept",that life exists, as do the stars and the sun, and get on with deciding on what use or 'meaning' we will give to our own lives....
>>>>
So, in terms of 'something to think about' decide on your own point of life, and include in that the choice of whether to believe in one religion/god/higher power or another... if you consider that to be the meaning of "Your" life then so be it.... Nobody can provide our 'correct' answer to this question except ourselves.... Perhaps the most we can hope for is a sufficient pool of opinion on which to start making up our own individual minds... and spend less time telling others how to live their lives...
>>>>
The point of life is adaptability, the value of life is progress... ;)
>>>>>>
Thanks for the question!;D
My regards!

Your question implies some sore of divine plane exists>
80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

It amazes me that we never question why is a dog here or a cat.
We always want to know why are we, humans, here.
Is it possible that we think too highly of ourselves and the point of our being here is strictly to live life as best we can.
Why does there have to be a grand scheme?

You're here because your parents reproduced you into existance. Beyond that, your purpose is what you claim for yourself, no matter where you feel the inspiration came from. You follow your mission, what you feel is right, until death. Either way, it's the mission that you found yourself. And no one will stand in judgement of your life now or ever. (No human - to respect certain religions)

The point of life is: going from point A to point B, and when you get there you have a unknowing smile of accomplishment, and satisfaction. We are here, because..... it's now, and now is..... doing, being, breathing, a cycle, an ecosystem of "THE POINT OF LIFE."

The only purpose of life is to get to know God,through His Word(the bible) to honor Him, to Glorify Him, To accept His Love & Salvation into Eternal Life by Believing upon the Son of God Jesus Christ who made the only way back to Heaven by paying our sin penalty for us. Thank Jesus for that, and take time to know Him.This is the only meaning of this life and the only way to Eternal Life! * also that Life is about The Creator not us The Creature.

To reproduce. There is little else we can do with the wink of an eye we call a life that has any meaning. Our children are the only way we can leave anything meaningful.

Your question makes me think of something a friend of mine said to me when she came to visit me today.
She said 'What's there to be happy for?'
I said 'You woke up this morning didn't you?' ;)
The point being, today, tomorrow and the many more todays and tomorrows to come

To feel like crap about alot of things, worry about death, regret things we did that bring death closer, regret things we missed out on doing, forget about dying once we finally have some fun, the fun ends and we waste our time missing it, regret wasting our time, feel like crap, and then die...
