I am looking into moving to Raleigh NC, right off of Poole road, I have found a great house there but have heard some bad things about the area. I would like to learn more aboout it.

I am looking into moving to Raleigh NC, right off of Poole road, I have found a great house there but have heard some bad things about the area. I would like to learn more aboout it.
It would be around Bugg Elemtenary school, in the 27610 zip code.

The Police Department has finished the CANE Project on Poole Road which was an area with a considerable amount of crime and shooting.

It is a great area to live at. Bugg Elementary is a great school. There is a lot of things to do in Raleigh that is fun and exiciting like the fair, the farmers market, and shopping, downtown, I love it there, it is so much fun. I live off Poole Rd. in raleigh, and it is not really bad...I hope this helps

Personally, I love downtown, but that area can be a little rough. If you are just looking to be near Raleigh and don't care about being in the beltline you might want to consider living in one of the surrounding areas......I live in South Raleigh and LOVE it. We are only 15 minutes to downtown, but have a quiet, safe atmosphere. Plus, your money will go a lot further and you would have more land. Just a thought.

It depends where, exactly, on Poole Road.
It is a fairly long avenue, running from downtown Raleigh, past the Beltline and it still gets called Poole Road all the way out to Wendell.
Some stretches of it are quite rough.
