What is your childrens birth order?

All the stereotypes about birth order are totally true in our family. My oldest is a type-A successful personalitly she is 7. My middle child is passive-agressive, knows how to get what she wants with subtle manipulation. My youngest, 2, is the family clown, very happy-go-lucky.

Birth order is a term sometimes used to help explain and understand how people's personalities develop based on when they were born into the family. Your first baby is considered an only child until a sibling is born. Then the oldest is considered a first born and the new baby is called the second born. The second born will become the middle child if another baby is added to the family. The youngest is, of course, the last one added to the family. It is very interesting to learn about birth order and how that affects how we see ourselves and how our children develop their views of themselves. We have an unusual birth order in our family. Our kids are 27, 25, 21, and 9. Our oldest is a girl and our second born is a boy. When the first and second are of different sexes it is often common for both to show signs of being "first born", which is how our 2 oldest are. Our 21 year old is another girl and she is very much like a middle child even though she was also the youngest until she was 12. Because our youngest was born when her siblings were all much older, she has a wide combination of personality traits because she is like an only child and like the youngest and like a first born. I am a first born and my husband is the youngest. So when our family is all together, we have 4 first borns who are perfectionist, take-charge, people pleasers in the room with 2 youngests who are absent-minded, outgoing, and tempermental. Birth order should not be used as an "excuse" for how a person is, but it helps to understand where a person may be coming from.

Boy first, 10 lbs. , Girl last, 10 lbs. Both C Sections. I then quit.
