What determines the price? I need to get new ones since Ive had the same ones since I was 16(am 21 now) and my mom bought them for me then. Is it the material, the style, the glass? What determines the rise in cost?

There are three things that determine the price of your glasses: the material used in the frame, the material used for the lenses, and whether or not they're branded. Personally, I don't think the more expensive ones are worth it, although the high density lenses are nice if you have really bad eyes (the lenses aren't as thick). I got the cheapest frames I could find ($25) and they've served me well.

I bought mine @ costco! The glasses including frames and lenses was less than just frames at a fancy pants boutique. It was so much cheaper... So the place you buy them really does affect it. Costco also has pretty cool glasses, so you are not cheaping out on style. In fact, this is the one item people ALWAYS compliment me on at first glance!

About your style question, it depends on if you are paying for it through a more expensive or high-end designer.... Alot of times the material may affect the price if it uses a bendable or stretchable material...

Also, you might have to pay for more features since technology is so great nowadays! Lol

Either you can get them with glass or plastic. Glass is a lot heavier, and they'll be going down you'r nose. Just make sure to get a very good frame!! The Frame, and it's material what's made of determine it's cost!
