The Mets. I don't understand why there is this huge division in everyone's mind between the Mets and the other top-rank playoff bound AL teams. I agree, the starting pitching is a little on the weakside. Yet, they have the best bullpen in baseball to pick up the slack, not to mention two pitchers (Pedro and Glavine) with immense playoff and world series experience. Plus, there's no lineup in baseball as stacked from top to bottom that can beat you with both small ball and the long ball like the Mets. Defensively, they are as strong as any playoff bound team, especially with Endy Chavez playing for Floyd in left. A little soft against lefties, yes, but still as strong as any team going to the playoffs. Please get over this American League superiority complex. The Yanks are the best team top to bottom in the AL and we split the season series against them. The National League may suck on the whole, but the Mets are a world-class team no matter which league they're in. Oh yeah, and they'll GAIN a batter in the World Series.

The Yankees are loaded with talent, and this will be A-Rod's break out season in the playoffs. The only team that can play with them is the Twins because of their pitching. An NL team has no prayer
