I love picking best answers, I look for answers which indicate that the person has depth of knowledge, and where appropriate a reference or two to back up that knowledge. No, I don't always fully agree with an answer - but a reference speaks a thousand words in an essay or presentation for example. People may have given answers nearer my opininion - but in general, no reference, no best answer - boy I am a hard task master aren't I?

I choose the one with the most details, no matter what side of view, and if it is a joke type question, I give it to the first person that gets it right.

no, i pick the ones that look like they actually took the time to read the questions and really thought about a good answer. Sometimes they do share my thoughts, but i do not decide just on who agrees with me or not.

I pick those which show most thought, and also, conversely, short witty ones. If it's something I believe in I choose an answer close to my heart, but many questions do not fit into this category.

I tend to pick the answers that make me laugh out loud or think outside the square.
A few times It's been hard to only pick a single best answer too.

Not at all. I often find the really interesting ones are the answers which give you a different perspective to your question - one that although you might not agree with, you wouldn't normally have thought about before....
