It's her birthday soon, and she's really into anime-stuff, final fantasy, animal crossing, starcraft, stuff like that. Just overall what's a good game? PS2 or Gamecube, please

Has she ever played any of the Harvest Moon games? I think she would probably like those. It's somewhat similar to Animal Crossing but more goal-oriented.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is for both the Cube and PS2. There's a "girl" version (where you play as a girl) called Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life. It's not the best game in the series but it is a good one.

Apparently the PS2 version has some features that the GCN doesn't, but the GCN version looks a lot better. It's up to you with one you choose, if either.

If she likes RPGs, she might like the Wild ARMs series on the PS2. I have no way of knowing if she likes traditional RPGs or not, so if you're going to get one of the WA games, I would get Wild ARMs 4. 3 is a great game but it's very old school in design.

A lot of people seem to like the Tales series. To be honest, I despise it, but I'm in the minority. Tales of Symphonia is available for the GCN and is a pretty decent game, and should be cheap by now.

I agree with Leordr88 about Kingdom Hearts. I prefer the first game over the second (story and gameplay are much better), and it should be fairly inexpensive now that the new one is out.

Also, what anime is she interested in? Some animes have video games related to them, like Naruto or .hack//SIGN. I'm not a huge fan of anime-based games, though, so I don't think I'd be much help in that respect.

You may also want to look into any of the Xenosaga series. Personally, I thought those games moved extremely slow, but they were still decently done.

I don't know if she'd be completely interested, but a "sequel" to Final Fantasy VII was just released not too long ago called Dirge of Cerberus. It's a bit of a third-person shooter, but it has quite a story related to it.

Final Fantasy XII is also supposed to be released late-October. If her birthday is before this date, you may consider pre-ordering it for her (if possible) as a gift. You could also go to a video game store and see if you can purchase a gift certificate so that she can pick out her own game. My mother always did this with me, because picking out a game for a girl gamer was always a bit overwhelming for her.

Good luck to you!

I suggest KH2 (Kingdom Hearts 2) because there are anime stuff, Final fantasy characters (Like Squall, Cloud, Rikku, Yuna, Paine etc.) animal crossing (Cuz The Disney Characters are there like Donald, Goofy, Mickey etc.) and the gameplay is awesome!!! In the K-zone (It's a magazine for Filipino kids) they rated Kingdom Hearts 2, 5 stars!

I played KH1 (Kingdom Hearts 1) but it's harder than KH2 because you need a very sharp mind. (There are puzzles, and hard battles etc.)

But before you buy KH2, watch the KH2 cutscenes at these websites:
www.kh-vids.net (then go to Kingdom Hearts 2 at the NavBar)
or
www.youtube.com (then type in the search bar "Kingdom Hearts 2")

P.S. I think her fave character will be Riku (He's Sora's [main character] best friend {even though I like Kairi so much better than them [my friend even likes Axel and Demyx more than them!!!]}

ummmm....square enix makes most of the good anime games....i think..they make the kingdom hearts series 1, 1 1/2, 2(1 1/2 for gameboy) with the soon to be released kingdom hearts 3...maybe you should reserve the kingdom hearts 3 game for ps2...try game stop,,,they should reserve one for you
