Not only do the perks and power outweigh the money, but the contacts a person can make in office will help that person make a WHOLE lot more money upon the return to the private sector...just look at bill clinton and hillary...they were basically grifters before getting into office...

I guess some people think they could make a difference, others are into the power and perhaps some like the prestige and the chance to see their name in the history books. If you're a Kennedy you don't have a choice. It's some kind of requirement. LOL.

Though honestly why does everyone supposedly want to rule the world? It looks like hard work.

because the perks out wiegh the salary by FAR.

Like me I work for the government pay is good but the PERKS!!!
none better and the private sector cant get what government employee can like STABILITY
