Where in this country would you say is the friendliest

In the USA the midwest is the friendliest, no questions asked. They are good people who are ready to help their neighbor. They still speak and have manors. If you were completely broke I think you could travel from town to town through the midwest and never go hungry.

The friendliest city I've ever been to is Chicago. People look you in the eye walking down the street- and you don't feel like they want to mug you. There's a general feeling of goodwill- very different from what I'm used to in New York.
