Okay...assuming that you have the newest version of iTunes 7.0, what I did click for click is...

Open iTunes
Go up to the top where it says EDIT
Go down to PREFERENCES
Once the PREFERENCES window opens up, note the subdividers at the top of the screen.
Go over to where it says ADVANCED
In the middle of the new window it should say "Use iTunes as the default player for audio files" click the box next to it so that it is selected.

Hit OK to remember your settings....

iTunes is now set as your default player. Enjoy your new iPod if you got one. I got the new 80GB white iPod and am still fooling around with it!

I don't......I use Winamp most of the time
