Are people generally happier when they have to choose among fewer choices, or given no choice at all?
this is my question and my hypothesis is that if people get to choose among fewer choices then they will be happier then no choives at all.

u need dependent variable and independent variable
and operational definition plz
i dont get them at all thank you

I think your hypothesis is correct. I also believe that people are generally happier when they have some choices than no choices at all. The easiest way to conduct this experiment would be to maybe survey people with and give them different situations one having a choice and another having few choices but at least some choice. Then have them rate how they felt from 1-5 5 being the "happiest" with the situation and the amount / quality of choices given.

Or, you could go around offering people candy, take chocolate for example, and give some people one kind of chocolate - milk duds. Then go around offering people different sorts of chocolate -kit kats, 3 musketeers, etc. Then ask them to rate which situation made them most comfortable / happiest and ask them to state why. For this experiment to work you'd have to use the same sample of people only just on different days or even at different times.

These are rather simple experiments but I hope they work!
