i am 5'8, almost 19 years old, about 125 pounds...because of my fast metabolism, i eat WAYYY too much constantly. now its a BIG concern. and i also eat late at night/morning. when you count calories, do you add them like this?=100 from tomato soup+230 from grilled cheese would equall=330 calories total???because ive realized thats about how much i consume daily...on other days i consume fatty foods that obviously have tonns of calories. also, my hair isnt as thick and is in BAD shape, compared to when i used to have the most gorgeous hair ever, and that wasnt long ago. even my friends noticed :-( ive just started exercising again and cut down on my portions but im scared about accidently hurting myself, since it says women should consume 1500 calories daily and im risking alot of diseases etc if i dont. PLZ HELP and thanx lots to all that have xoxo

first off, if you are getting 30-60 minutes of exercises daily your calorie intake should be 2200, not 1500 (this is for maintaining healthy weight, check out mypyramid.gov and secondly, yes, it's just a streaming count for calories, 100+100=200.. but some calories are better for you than others, hallow calories, like those of sugary foods, have little nutritional value and will leave you feeling less healthy, whereas hearty foods will keep you healthy and many times will sustain you longer. you should look up the Glycemic Index, different foods raise your blood sugar at different rates, and only a hand full of high GI foods are good for you (things like watermelon) also, if you are like me and just have the super metabolism from hell then you will have to raise your calorie intake a little.. I'm recommended for about 3k a day for my activity level and age, but some days i kick it up to 3500 just because I can tell that my body needs it, the only downside to this is that if and when our metabolism's slow down, you'll have to retrain your body a little so that you don't over eat

Okay if you are 5'8 and 125 lbs you're kinda on the skinny side. I would STOP counting calories or how much you eat and focus instead on WHAT you eat. Put down the fried grilled cheese on white bread and start using whole wheat breads, fresh vegtables balanced with lean proteins. This way you can eat as much as you want and your body is getting more of what it needs to make your hair nice and you feel better.

You need to take it easy. Take things one month at a time. Find the most unhealthy thing you are eating and cut the portion in half or substitute it for something healthy. Try to do this for a full month and if you are unsuccessful, don't do anything else until you are successful for a full month.

After about 6 months you will find that you are eating incredibly healthy and losing weight.

Worst things most poeple eat:

Ice Cream
French Fries
Cookies
Sugary Coffee Drinks (shakes, frappucino)
Cheese
Fast Food

GOOD LUCK AND BE PATIENT! You are only 19. Start now but don't push yourself or you will fail!

confident, i think of they are. That guy in ny needs all quickly meals places to exhibit the calorie and nutritional information on the menu boards. i think of that having the calorie information next to the fee ought to no longer supply up somebody from ingesting what they want. McDonald's places calorie and nutritional information on the paper wrappers and boxes, so the archives is attainable greater comfortably (vs. information superhighway cyber web web pages).
