First I would wash out the inside to the best of my ability - especially the ashtrays. If the seats are leather - use a good leather cleaner.

Second, I'd spray the car out with Neutra Air by Lysol

Third, I'd go to the house of my neighbor, the mechanic -- and ask him to spray some of that secret car dealership spray through the air conditioner - and while he is there - make sure he replaces all the air filters.

Fourth - I'd drive around for the next few days with the windows down to air out the car.

Five - I'd start the process over again if it didn't take the first time...

An essential oil called Lavender. Put this in a spray bottle with water and instantly you will have no bad cigarette smell.

I would try to find a reasonable way to cleaning the fabric surfaces because, they suck up the most foreign bodies.

The air system is also going to be smelling of smoke, and I don't know how to fix that. Maybe there's something you can clean or replace in the air system.

Windex. Seriously, wash the windows, dash, anything vinyl. Spray the seats, floors, mats lightly with Windex.

Spray it with Febreeze. A box of kitty litter on the floor in the back will absorb odors, too.
