Interesting answers but if some force was put on an item to make it flow out of the Space Shuttle then it will keep going in that direction directly away from the Shuttle... it would not continue to travel side by side with the Shuttle for hours.

Had you actually read the articles, you'd know that they are concerned about some object that floated out of the payload bay when they tested the OMS engines. It is a UFO in that they don't know what it is, but they do know where it came from.
