Not mainstream rap. The underground rap artist have more of what's called "street cred" than the "sell out"s like Snoop Dog, Ludicris, and eminem. These are considered "pop rap" compared to the mopre hard core underground stuff. They don't have big recording labels behind them and you'll never see them on the Regis and Kelly show!!

underground rap is rap that is not played on radio stations or MTV or BET, in other words, it's not mainstream.
