it is about as vulnerable as any bay is. however The problem is That is already severely polluted. during The 18Th, 19th, and early part of the 20th century the Chesapeake bay was used as a dump....putting anything and everything in to the poor bay from human waste, naval waste, industrial runoff, and garbage. in the 1970's during the environmental revolution they notice the damage done to the marine life around the bay and the disappearance of the rare species in the bay and decided to clean it up.....because of the fragile and exquisite ecosystem monumental efforts have been put towards it's protection and cleanup.

i just left from there on a cruise, it rained alot there, and i guess all the pollution from the streets go down the drains and pollute the water.. im not sure

Its big and does not flow quickly plus high population and proximity to the city

It is big, and shallow, and drains slowly to the ocean.
