When I was 16 I party hard. I was awful to my mom and step dad. I moved out at 16. moved in with my bf. (N EVER DO IT! lol) I had to work a full time job finish school. Pay bills the works. But the only thing that came out of it was when I move out me and my mom started to get along. I had a son at 18 droke I mean on welfare broke Married his father when I was 20. I did not get any collage. I did get my High school done. There are alot of things I regreat. I mean really regreat. When my son is 16 I hope I am wise to it and try to handle things different. and for all the kids out there BE KIND TO YOU PARENTS! DONT make the mistakes I have made, and Dont try to grow up to quick.

When I was 16, I was so sure I knew everything. I was "an adult" and "I could take care of myself, make my own decisions". My parents "didn't understand me" and "wanted to control my life". I faught for "my rights and individulaity". My "conformist and prejudgemental" parents were at their wits end. They doubted themselves, felt disappointed in me, and themselves, and wondered if they should have rammed some religion down my throat........
Then, I got older and more experienced. I began to have many "lightbulb moments" where some of the things they warned me about, happened. Some things just clicked. Eureka!
I actually began to understand what they meant about hanging out with people who would get me into trouble, staying up too late, being prepared for tests, dating guys who wouldn't come to the front door or talk to the parents, being to work on time, earning a reputation, and a whole bunch of others.
When I had to face some real consequences of my poor choices, I began to understand.
When I was 16, I wasn't thinking about 10 years down the road, 1 year, or even two weeks.....only the RIGHT NOW.
I didn't think about the effects or consequences. I wanted to do what felt good to me, in the moment, and what was fun.
I realized that they didn't want to "control my life" but rather, they realized that my mind was not ready to think forward into the future, and much about other people, yet.
I had some realy good times, and some bad times. I wouldn't do it again, unless you paid me a lot of money.

I was a nightmare at 16. Used to go and get drunk with my mates and was a complete ***** to my mum! I was sensible around lads tho as did not want to get a reputation so just stuck to partying and having a good time. Luckily I grew out of it and mum forgave me and we are really close now! Didn't realize how much hell I had put her through until I had my own kids. I now worry about how they are going to be when they become teenagers!
