May I ask you what you think the Book of Shadows is?
Perhaps you have no one that is knowledgable to offer insight. So I will attempt to give some enlightenment.
First think of what it is called, why do you think it was called that?
You see, pagans - those that worshiped nature, the old gods and cycles of the moon and seasons were often looked upon with prejudice to be polite. Those that wished to continue with their old beliefs were not treated well or might be called heretic and cast out if they were lucky....cited witch and killed after torture if they were unlucky....it was supersticious times and knowledge was something based on opinion and hersay rather than facts.
So to continue their celebrations and worship, followers would often wear dark clothing and slip out at night to meet in secret places. These were refered to as esbots, while big holiday type gatherings were called Sabbats. Now for the book part...
It got it's name because most of what was done was done in the shadows, or in the dark - so it was secret from what was done in the day. Since so many lived in towns that were leaving the old ways to follow Christianity. Which of course frowned on any other belief system calling them pagan or devil worship. Just cause it wasn't "their" religion it was wrong...which is just plain stupid, arrogant and prejudice. But that's how it was, stomp out the culture and replace the belief system with Christianity.
So the book that they wrote all of their remedies, times of meeting and any other information...was put into the Book of Shadows. These books were dangerous - if found they could be used as evidence to have the person tortured and then burned at the stake or hanged...whatever the current method was being used. So they were often coded - written in a secret form of writing of either glyphs or some other way, like runes. Sometimes it was written in another language - maybe the native tongue of their homeland. But many pagans would have them, especially those that were healers or studied medicinal herbs and made elixers or potions to aid in healing or the like.
Of course in a medium to large group, there would be a book to explain the rites and rituals for each of the holidays, general things to celebrate of course who to call upon for each season. The god Herne was the horned god, with a crown of antlers, he was the consort of the Lady, the goddess - and he was the lord of the hunt and she the one who would offer her blessing upon the crops.... it was all entwined with the seasons and cycles of those who lived by their own hands, by the soil and by their working of the earth..it was another time than what we have today.
Pagans today use a Book of Shadows as a journal or personal place for thoughts, poems and recipies. So it isn't anything sinister or evil - I left some links for you to check out...
In the end one must choose to follow their own path....

A BOS is used to store recipes, spells, dreams, thought, ideas, anything a witch use or makes in thier craft. I have 4 binders full of stuff just as reference material. I have boxes of material elsewhere (too much to put in a book). I plan on buying a 4 drawers filing cabinet to put my reference material in. This only for stuff I wrote. I have a bookshelf for my books. I think it is in the house of evey witch and it is real.

There is such a thing as a Book of Shadows. The main purpose of it is to document a witch's spells, rituals, and knowledge gained through out his/her journey on The Path of Wicca.

I know it is real. The true book of shadows was writen by a shaman in the village of Enoch. It was lost about the time that the village was consumed by a flood, and has been presumed destroyed.

yes it is real
Each witch or Wiccans as we are called has his or her own book of shadows. it contains not only spells, but information and our thoughts and outcome of things that we did. It is sort of a journal, a referance guide, and a spell book all rolled into one. No one has a book of shadows like someone else, it is also something that is usally kept private, hence 'shadows'.

A Book of Shadows is real. Most Witches keep one. Although I refer to my earlier ones of my Books of Shame. LOL!
While there are a few older books floating in trunks, most Witches have their B.O.S. destroyed when they leave this plane of existence.

After reading your additions, I would have to say it does exist. In some alternate plane or previous life, your life force was responsible for it. Meditate, call it to you, see what happens. If it is yours, you will be reunited.
