Right doenst matter if you can weight bear or not you can still have a fracture off the metatarsals (foot) ,swelling is sometimes a sign off a fracture but not always,it could be the muscles and ligaments in the foot you have badly bruised. To find out what injury you have part from a cut you need to get yourself to your gp or A/E for an x-ray,the dr will then decide what further treatment you will need. Also when was the last time you had a tetnus jab,as you may have to have one off these too.Good Luck And they still x ray toes in my hospital they dont just send you hame and tell you to rest.

can you put weight on your foot? if you can it's probably just a bit of bruising.i dropped a very heavy cast iron pot on my foot,it swelled up like a balloon, went to a&e, got x-ray and got told to bugger off as it was a slight bruise!(wish i took the pot with me...i'd have given them a slight bruise!!!)if the cut is weeping or deep it may be worth getting it looked at anyway incase there is a bit of infection from muck off the wheel trim.hope it's better soon

Crush Injuries should always have proper medical assessment. If you did break any small bones and leave them they will mend but be possibly deformed, also you may have damaged tendons or nerves, the cut may get infected. You could call NHS direct for advise 0845 46 47 or go to A+E or an NHS walk in Centre but don't leave it to chance. Hope it gets better soon!

Sounds boken to me!!!
Did it hurt? Did you do that old trick hopping on one foot? PMSL.
Did you get someone to hit the wheel trim.. how naughty of it to fall on your foot.
I would go to A&E may possibly need to be seen in fracture clinic... dont keep your shoes/socks on.. let your foot breath..
You should elevate, cold compress but not too cold that it burns your foot... be careful...
let us know how you get on
