No it is not. Brake lights come on when there is no fluid in the master cylinder. The master cylinder is the container that holds all your brake fluid. It is usually attached to your firewall directly in front of the the steering wheel. You will see a large round object that looks like a pie tin , the master cylinder is attached to that.
Brake systems are closed loop systems. Press on the brakes and brake fluid goes out to the calipers and/ or wheel cylinders which expand shoes or pads creating friction and stopping the
car. Release the brakes and the fluid returns to the master.
If you have a hole somewhere in the system when you press on your brakes the fluid leaves the system and winds up either in the mechanism or on the street. Not good

No, that is not favourite. examine around the grasp cylinder placed under the hood on the firewall, on the left area for signs and indicators of brake fluid, then wipe off around the lid and examine the fluid point. additionally, examine the interior each and each wheel for signs and indicators of fluid leaking from a wheel cylinder. If not something at any of those places , examine the brake traces. additionally, with the hood raised, push down on the brake pedal and pay attention for a whoosh of air meaning a defective brake booster. In any adventure, i'd get them appeared at by potential of a qualified brake mechanic , you're putting your self up for an twist of destiny. Kwick greater healthful sounds like a gaggle of jacklegs.

Sounds like your brake fluid is low, if it still stops you are OK for now but you should have it checked out because eventually you'll either be unable to stop or you'll burn up your brakes. Midas has a good guarantee on their service if they're available in your area. Brake fluid deteriorates when exposed to moisture so you may want to have whomever services it flush the brakes after they fix whatever is leaking to get out anything that might decrease the efficiency of your brakes.

All of the other answers are good, but are incorrect
If the peddle goes to the floor, it means you need a new master cyclender.
If you ran it low on fluid to long you have also pumped in a lot of air into the breaking system.
So First, if you had your children in the car and you could not stop would you say it was safe to drive? No honey it is not save to drive and since you know about it and you drive about it and hurt someone you could be sued. It is a case of you are taking a chance of hurting yourself or someone else.
SO PLEASE DONT DRIVE IT UNTILL YOU GET IT FIXED.
Hope this helps in some way

Not usually, it can be a sign of one or more things. It could be your brake fluid is low, or your brakes need to be bled, or you need new brakes pads or shoes. It could be a combination of these things also. I would check these things if you know how or take it to a brake shop.

No, you are probably in need of either brake fluid or a brake job. Take your car in to get checked.

NO! There is no brake fluid, so they won't work at all. A broken brake line or bad wheel cylinder, or bad master cylinder could be the cause.
