Who would understand better the problem than a psychiatrist who's been there? Your notes tell you you are insane ? If you can do an evaluation like that, it means also that you can evaluate other things like self esteem, right? You are saying this but I do not think you really mean it. Probably a perfectionist and do not feel you are good enough. Please do not be offended. It's only an opinion
Good luck in getting back on track

Well, we're all crazy. If everyone studied to become a psychiatrist, they would find they are crazy too. Who's to say insane people can't help other insane people? You're probably not as bad off as you think

It is not uncommon to question yourself in the field of psychiatry/psychology. When studying the DSM, one student once wrote that he felt like he had everything in there. First I'm wondering what it says that you have (schizophrenia? bipolar disorder?) according to your notes. Secondly, I would say that you should probably go get an opinion from your own psychiatrist to get an objective perspective. Third, I think that it's good that you are thinking about this critically because this is your profession. Good luck.

Don't believe for a minute that all psychiatrists have no problems! They're human, too, btw!

Also, most insane people don't know they're insane...So, if you recognize that there are things in your life that need fixing, you can take steps to fix them. That's not insanity - it's reality!

Maybe you just "want" to be insane, so you try to diagnose yourself as being that way when like normal people you only show a few symptoms....

Maybe you are just really interested in it, and that is why you want to be a psychiatrist.

... Actually, maybe you are insane after all....

I assume you are speaking hypothetically. The best clinicians are the ones who have been in the patient's shoes. I have been in therapy for over 10 years and I am now working in the mental health field. I think it gives me an advantage over those that don't know what it's like to be on the other side.

Well, a common saying is that the insane don't believe they're insane, so you may just be a bit paranoid.

Another saying is that it's always easier to solve someone else's problems.

You're probably no worse off then the rest of us. Being in the Medical field, I have always felt that you need to be somewhat crazy to work with crazy people. How else are you going to see the world through their eyes?
