everyday clothes(pants and t-shirt). This is for career day at school. I just couldn't think of anything besides pants and a shirt even though I want to be writer. I also don't think wearing pajamas to school would be considered okay.

Dress as a 17th century writer.

I'm not sure what your question means. If you have to dress as a writer, then you can wear practically anything because writers work at home and wear jeans, t-shirts, etc. If you're talking about working in an office, wear what the other people wear.

Hmmm... writers don't tend to have a uniform per se.

Carry a notebook, look kinda poor and have a pair of glasses on standby. All this time I spend looking at this computer screen dries out my contacts so sometimes I bust out the glasses.

Oh yeah if you can't wear regular clothes either opt for pajamas or tweed. We love to write in our pjs and for some reason pop culture thinks we wear tweed. God forbid!

Ha-ha!

Just what are everyday clothes?
Are you a builder or DJ?
Poet or plumber?
If you must then go to a book shop signing session and observe.
Or dig out what makes you feel comfortable

Jeans and a sportcoat. A pipe would be helpful prop, if they'll let you have it. Ooh, and one of those driving caps.
