Various things.

(1) Something very, very, special. A hot item will sell fast.

(2) Stolen stuff. The thief could not sell his loot because it was too hot.

(3)Temperature. In Texas Hot is anything in the upper 100s.

(4) Good Looking. That guy is sooo hot.

It all depends on the context the word is in.
