I am all for it. If enough people would, companies would be a lot better to workers.

It depends on the job/career. I myself when I think of people on welfare or my own personal experience being on welfare over ten years ago,I don't think anyone should be striking for that simple matter. They should be thankful to have a job and an income. The worst is teachers. They have it easier than most others. A summer vacation every year etc. No need for them to go on strike and affect the students and their education needs.

I think they are as bad as people who sue tobacco companies because they got sick from smoking. Unions have outlived their usefullness. Back in the 20's and 30's before labor laws, unions had a purpose. Now we have the EDD, and there aren't any sweatshops in America. As for their "rights", nobody picketed at my office when our cost of insurance doubled and Christmas bonuses were cancelled. Unlike the grocery store workers in Southern California, who were on strike for 4 months over a similar scenario. They made everyone's lives miserable, and in the end, the accomplished NOTHING. It was a catastrophic waste of time and money.

I can't say, since I've never been in a situation like that, but I do know that a lot is about loyalty to your profession and to your needs as well. But then again, when the nurses at a local hospital went on strike, they had to bring in replacement nurses who may or may not have been of high caliber as those going on strike. In that case, I may not want to strike because I would want to look out for my patients first.

I think, "damn, there are some people who stand up for what they believe in". Even if I don't necessarily believe in their cause, I can at least respect that they just don't let people run them over...
