the father of mathematics is ofcourse ARCHIMEDES he is basically an ancient Greek mathematicians as well as a philosopher. Some of his mathematical proofs absorb the use of infinitesimals in a method that is alike to contemporary integral calculus. By assuming a proposition to be factual and also presenting that this would show the way to a disagreement, he was able to give away answers to problems to a random amount of accurateness that should be enough proof that ARCHIMEDES is the father of mathematics

Archimedes is concidered, by most, to be the father of mathematics.
He invented calculus 2000 years before sir Issac Newton did.
But I tend to think that Thug the greedy, a caveman, invented math when he recognized Barf the fat (another caveman) had more food then he.

The answer is Alexander Mathematics. He was a Hungarian nobleman with extraordinary talents but his talents were little understood in his lifetime. After his death a man called Ishmael Arithmetic popularized his writings and people decided to name the area of study he pioneered after him.

Maths is a vast subject so you can't properly specify anyone but Archimedes is consider (by most of people) the father of maths. (there's even a book title that says so).
Further more Pythagoras and Aristotle are also consider as chief exponents of maths.
Hope that helped ^^

there are many people who are considered to be the father of mathematics, but they are wrong, mathematics in general was invented by an unknown man in the ancient Sumerian culture, it was invented to help keep track of trade. Although there are the different fathers of the different types of mathematics (Algebra, calculus, geometry, etc..) but I don't know what there names are.

The best (Western) candidate would be Euclid.
Although mathematics arose independently in many other places. So its probably more correct to say there are many fathers.
