The Kyoto protocol was stacked against industrialized countries and especially the US. The rest of the world has been jealous of our success and the Kyoto deal was a way to set us up for large fines. Americans must realize the rest of the world could buy their way out of things because they do not need the energy and materials we need because of our life style.

The G8 is also becoming a joke because it has been following the UN in growing against the United States and Russia, China and France enjoy putting it to us. We need to let the rest of the world know they should do things to protect themselves instead of always calling us when the wolf is at the door.

The US did not sign the Kyoto accord because there was an exception made for developing nations. In practice this exception would allow the biggest polluting industries to move to those countries instead of making the improvements necessary to clean our atmosphere. The net result is the air would still be polluted.

China, Russia, and India would not have to abide by the Kyoto Protocols but the USA would.
It is not about pollution it is about changing the balance of economic power from Industrialized nations to 3rd world nations in disguise. Our Government knows this.
Look outside and you will see that no matter where you live in the US that you have blue Sky above you and no pollution.
