Use boric acid, and a lot of it. Sweep it under the baseboards and into the crevices of cabinets, sprinkle it liberally on the carpet and push it in with a broom. It's harmless to mammals, but the roaches will get it caught on their legs and carry it back to the nest where they will slowly poison their entire family.

First, get rid of their food and water sources or whatever you do,they will be back.
Vacume cleaners are not to be underestimated both to get rid of crumbs and capture roaches. Roach motels use to be cheap, and they worked great, especially after the 1st roach was caught it seemed to lure others to the motel.
In the olden days, if bugs in the house were a problem, they used sulfur candles. You could make your own, but be warned.
You have to leave your house for the day, since the sulfur dioxide is poisonous (don't forget the cat, dog, house plants, fish, ect).
It also tend to make your house smell like hell.
Melt a big candle, mix about 1 teaspoonful of sulfur in, and let solidify with the wick inside.
You cannot do this in an apartment complex because the other tenants might have asthma attacks or even die.

They are very virile and strong. Known for years to be hard to kill. Many years ago I lived in an apartment and many of the neighbors complained about roaches. I never saw a single one in my apartment. One night I heard a noise in my kitchen. It seems a roach was on the wall. My cat jumped up and got the roach. Then I found out that roaches are not exactly stupid. The know if there is a predator around and avoid that area. My cat would get them whenever one came out, so they stayed away.
The answer, get a cat.

The meek shall inherent the earth. They were here millions of years before us and will be here millions of years after we are gone.
I used about a dozen or so roach bombs to get rid of the infestation. Then borax powder to keep them down. Not leaving ANY food or water out helps alot also.

Actually, roaches can't be killed by poison. The government/thing has decreed that the only sensible way to kill a roach is by smashingit with a hammer.

If you live in an apartment,no matter what you do,they come back from the adjacent units. Get gel baits and make sure you put some in all vents, pipe chases and electrical outlets. They are nasty and boric acid is a poor choice IMHO

Get foggers. They work the best and get every part of the house. Read the label that tells how many to get for the number of rooms in your place. Good luck.
