how do you estimate the atomic mass without making a mathematical calculation? please explain since i might have a quiz coming up.. thank you!

i dont know the best way to estimate it, the math is simple- just take the atomic numbers times the percentages and then add them up

10 X .2= 2
11 X .8= 8.8

2 + 8.8 = atomic mass of 10.8

If you've got to do it by guesstimation without real math, then just think of the simple case of 50-50, which would yield an average atomic mass of 10.5, right? But if it's not 50-50 then the answer will be biased toward the more predominant form. I hope this helps.

without math u can't do it

atomic mass = 10*20% + 11*80%
