I bought a eMachine T3506 in July. It seems great and I got a good deal on it at CompUSA. ($200 after a $200 rebate, which I received this week. I also bought addition 512 memory to install in it for $59. I wanted to wait until Vista comes out in January, because my old PC is about 5 years old. But, I could not resist the price and for $200, I figured I could not go wrong.

Have you noticed the machine was powered by a gateway system?? I bought a T3508 last week and was surprised to see it was really a gateway system. I am not able to play pool on yahoo or download Java stuff but other than that it seems OK. I heard from a computer salesman that e machines are known to fail after a year in a half but he may be stretching the truth. I had a Packard bell machine for 11 years and back then everyone said they were terrible. The computer you have should be decided by what you want to do with it and the money available.
Most people spend far more than they need to because they want the fastest and most storage but usually it is not needed. Good luck.

Don't know about the new ones, but I have a 6 year old Emachine that still works great, if a little slow by todays standards.
