100 divided by 17 you have 5 with a remainder of 15
or 5 X 17 =85 plus 15 = 100


your answer if I under the question right is 15 as a remainder

It depends where you start , if you are counting 0 as the first Fibonacci number then the 100th is 218922995834555169026 and 17 is one of the factors so the remainder is zero.

If you are obsessive about starting your lists with the 0th element instead of the 1st then
354224848179261915075 would be the hundredth and 17 is not a factor, working out the remainder is quite tricky.

100 is not a Fibonacci number

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377, 610, 987 ...

I will assume the sequence is 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55 etc

To find f_100 mod 17 we only need to find (f mod 17)_100. I.e., the 100th term of the remainder series

i.e., 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,4,0,4,4,8,12,3,15,1,16,0,16,16,15...

A program can easily find this out for even large numbers since you never will have problems with overflow.
