Because they can do either or...Some never actually graduated from their college. Others like to give props to their High School.
Dont listen to the morons that say they didnt go to college, almost all NFL players have gone to college. Remember, Maurice Clarett lost a U.S. Supreme Court case challenging the NFL's requirement that players wait three years after high school before turning pro
It's really just their choice as which school to mention

All players went to college, they are either not wanting to be associated with their school or they are trying to be funny. I remember last year watching a Monday night game and one of the defensive players stated which kindergarten school he went too, I laughed for a long time.

Willie Parker of the Steelers was treated like dirt by UNC as a player. He wasn't even allowed to play on senior day. He never made the draft (lucky for Pittsburgh). He has no love of his former college but a great deal of respect for his high school coach.
That's one case.

It depends on the player, they all went to college, players are required to be out of high school for three years before they can enter the draft. So they all go to college. Some are just trying to be funny, other's did something stupid like shoplifting and got caught so their school kicked them out, so the players are pissed and refuse to acknowledge the school. Just Varies

Most NFL players did go to some sort of college....usually they just don't want to be associated with that school...
