Is there a such thing as falling out of love with someone even if the other person did'nt do anything? My friend says that she does'nt look at her boyrfriend as "the only one for her" and " the one she's gonna spend the rest of her life with" she was previously with him for 3 years and she says that she was young at the time (she was 16 and he was 21) he's now 22 and he's 27. She said she was young and stupid for thinking she was so in love. They broke up for a year and a half and are now back together. She said that he did'nt do anything to her but she did break up with him. And she said that if someone else comes along that she likes more than her boyfriend, she will leave him and start to date the other person...I told her it just sounds like she's dating her boyrfriend just because she can.... this does'nt make much sense to me So does anyone have any opinions? Please don't be rude...and please don't say mind my business

yes you can fall out of love and no one has to do anything.. in fact that is really the reason most fall out of love.. because they are not doing anything together anymore.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said she is dating him just because she can. Its a relationship that is just wating to end - but no one has the guts to end it.

sometimes people get so afraid they will never find anyone else that they just settle for what they have. they don't believe they can do any better - or deserve any better so they just stay where they are - even though they are not really happy where they are.

Have your friend see a councelor - perhaps there are some things she can work on and then eventually move on to someone who can make her feel again.

It sounds like your friend was in infatuation with her boyfriend more than in love with him. She was young and niave and jumped into a relationship unassure of why other than him giving her some attention. She started growing up and started seeing she made a mistake and now has really discovered she never had any real feelings for this guy other than probably just friends. Now she realizes it was all a fantasy world and is trying to figure out how to get out of the relationship, so shes willing to jump into another one, if someone shows interest in her, just to get out of her present one, which is going to be a huge mistake. She needs to find her someone special shes loves really or shell be in the same boat she is in now. She wants to jump into another relationship because of the security it brings. Shes unsure of how to go it alone til she really does find her true love so she does the next best thing, jump into a relationship and hopes shell learn to eventually love the guy. She needs a real good friend to help her see this before she gets into too deep and beyond the point of no return

I think there is a such thing as falling out of love with someone cause one of my friends fell out of love with her boyfriend and they had been together for 4years and 6months and she just all of a sudden stop liking him.......tell your friend that it is ok that she think she dont love him or look at him the way she use to but if she still kind of like him just dont break up with him until she really know for a fact that she doesnt like or love him

Yes there is a such thing of falling out love. This is what love really is it can't last forever like what everyone says the only thing that lasts is the memories.

Sounds like she is rude to me and confused about what she wants and cold hearted. She may be a friend but I hope she is not a friend that you will follow. Good luck.
